| Poor Body Posture at Set-up
Some feel that for a sport to be truly enjoyable, it should have less rules and more fun. However, if one adheres to the fundamentals or basics spelt out in golf, it will save a lifetime of frustration through trial and error.
The cornerstone of the swing is a correct posture. Without the correct posture, you will find it almost impossible to create any consistency to your set-up. It is wrong to bend the back when setting up, instead of leaning the body forwards from the hip. The reason it is a mistake, is because the body can only turn around its spinal axis if the back is straight. It is impossible to turn around a bent spine, so you are forced to move your body too much and swing mainly using your arms. You can instead, just lean straight forwards from your hips, allowing your upper body to rotate freely and better for golf.
So avoid the wrong curved body posture at set up. Adopt the almost straight āSā like posture, which is the correct one to help your golf swing.
